A Road Map to Paying your future Property Taxes

When we want to go somewhere and we’re not quite sure how to get there, we use a map.  When traveling, a map allows you the opportunity to prepare a customized plan, separate your trip into sections if necessary, and helps you make it to your final destination.  This same logic can be used toward your personal and financial objectives, as well as your next road trip.

 A road map for your future goals will help you stay organized and focused as you work to achieve them.  It will also allow you something to turn to when you want to review your progress or evaluate the history of your journey.  Once you have reached your goals, it will also serve as a commemorative bit of memorabilia to help remind you of how far you’ve come.

 When setting a personal or financial goal, it is unlikely that you will be able to easily and immediately reach it.  Unfortunately, our goals tend to be called as such because we have to struggle to attain them.  Road maps make things easier in many ways.

 First of all, writing your broad goals down gives you the opportunity to break them down into smaller, achievable objectives.  Most goals are achieved through a series of baby steps, which can be easily outlined through creating a road map.

 Secondly, by writing down your goals and objectives, as well as the much smaller steps required to achieve them, you are officially committing yourself to them.  It is much harder to walk away from your plans when you have established them in writing, for all the world to see.

 Lastly, by planning out a road map, especially one that requires you to make regular check-ins, you will be constantly faced with your desires, keeping you motivated to achieve them.  It will also make it easier to get back on track if you ever slip up or become distracted.
