6/30/2011 Deadline
In most Texas Counties, failure to pay your 2010 property tax on or before 6/30/2011 will result in a penalty equal to 20% of your tax bill. Monthly interest charges of 1-2% will also continue to be assessed. In addition to the penalties, at some point the county will file a foreclosure action as means to collect the taxes. You may want to consider the following options in you will be unable to meet the deadline:
1) Utilize the equity in your home by refinancing or taking out a equity loan.
2) Consider a property tax loan as a fast and affordable option.
